Nobuto Suga

Nobuto Suga gained deep respect for wood as a living organism in the countryside of Japan where his father taught him to follow the rhythms of nature. Suga’s primary concern is allowing the integrity of a tree to prevail in its next form. He began his craftsmanship skills through repairing the sculptures of Sol LeWitt in NYC where he worked for over a decade. After earning his Bachelor of Science from SUNY, Suga moved to California where he now works at the O2 Artisans Aggregate in Oakland using Japanese wood joinery to custom-build furniture, sculpture, and barns.
